44 day old French Free Range Chickens ( Sunshine )

Just eating the good grasses.

Brooder difference

On Sat May 16, I bought DOC s and started to brood them of course.......the following Thurs May ,May 21 I called to see if more where scheduled to arrive on Sat the 23rd.

They said they still had some left from the previous week,so I bought them.



The two groups all born on May 15.Those that I had brooded for 1 week were weighing at 150 grams......the second group that the store had brooded weighed only 100 grams...........they had been too crowded and as a result werent able to eat properly.

One group was 50 % bigger in only one week......

An addition of out door housing for 100 ranging birds....we'll add nipa for a roof this pm.

Chicken business is never finished......expansion is on going.

One day old Naked Neck Chickens arrived today,first time in Bacolod for a whole batch........will be interesting to follow their progress............hope the buyer keeps me updated.

ok...new pics again.........we moved the Sunshine from the brooder to the deep littered floor of the coop today.Very active running all over.....total weight for 50 birds ( one couldnt be caught to weigh)was 18,700 grams. 10 at 4,200 grams..........30 at 7,300 grams and 10 at 3,100 grams.For averages of 420,380 and 310.



The Hubbards were moved to a larger brooder....they weighed in at 11,800 grams for 25 birds. For an average of 472 grams

New pics today........a new raod the Government put in......I dont like it....takes away some privacy,but it is helpful.

Also a Tom Turkey,and some of the almost new chicken house.

There are 3 Sunshine Hens with their Farmers Choice Roo ,also.they are about 3 months today.
